The Ent Woman and Climate Collapse
My daughter is at art camp and she’s unhappy. I am there with her and trying to figure out how to help her. Then I am walking with someone on a second floor balcony that looks out into a huge room and there is some competition happening. I watch a huge, giant woman do a handstand. She is like twice the size of a normal human and I am so impressed with her ability to do a graceful handstand but also with her apparent sense of dignity, self-respect, and self-esteem, despite being “a freak”. She then starts making a speech about how we should burn all the paper in the world as a way of ending our dependence on paper and trees. She speaks for the trees and seems to have special knowledge of what they need. I consider that maybe she is part tree and that is why she is so tall. Then one side of the roof collapses. I watch it happen from the balcony. The focus suddenly shifts to dealing with the crises of the roof collapse.
